Puck didn’t care if the tears were streaming down his face right now. He didn’t care if her mother came back telling him to leave. He wasn’t going to leave. He was going to stay there and not leave till she woke up. He was going to make sure that she knew that he cared about her. He wanted to be one of the first people that she saw when she opened up her pretty green eyes. He had so much to tell her. He had wasted so much time just trying to find the right time to tell her, but there wasn’t ever any right time. It seemed like things just got in the way, mostly his pride and how he didn’t want to get turned down again. He didn’t want to feel that hurt that he felt so long ago, when she pushed him away after Beth was born.
Puck heard Quinn make a noise, but he wasn’t sure if it was real. Watching her eyes start to flutter open caused his heart to start to beat fast. He moved closer to her. ”Quinn,” he mumbled watching her slowly start to focus on him. More tears fell down his face when he heard her talk. ”You were in an accident,” he pointed out, looking down at her lifeless body. He shook his head at her question of him being okay. ”I just thought I lost you like i lost her,” he started to ramble. ”I was afraid that I would get to tell you how I feel. That you wouldn’t make it and I wouldn’t be able to tell you that I love you,” he leaned forward pressing a kiss on her cheek. ”God, I’m so glad you’re away,” he said looking deep into her eyes. ”I can’t lose you, Quinn,” he informed her as more tears fell down his face.
Quinn couldn’t help but smile up to him, she didn’t love seeing him cry but it filled her heart with warmth to know that he cared about her so much. Enough to worry about her being gone or hurt too much. She sighed as he mentioned the accident, remembering very little about it other than the fact that she had been texting when she shouldn’t have been. She was foolish to do that and now she had paid the price by being stuck in a hospital bed, hardly able to feel the rest of her body. Quinn looked up to him and almost gasped when he said that he loved her, that he had been worried he wouldn’t get the chance to tell her that. “You…love me, Puck?” She smiled more and tried to sit up, looking more worried when she could barely feel her legs and the attempt to try and move just wasn’t working for her. “Puck? I don’t know if I am just tired or whether they have given me a lot of medication but I can’t feel my legs. I can’t feel anything down there……oh my god, am I…..why can’t I feel anything?”
She started to panic, the thought of being paralyzed just running through her head. What if the price she had paid was more than she first assumed? What if she couldn’t walk anymore and she would be stuck in a wheelchair? All those dancing or performing dreams would be over. Hell, her time on the cheerios would be over for good, just when she had been getting it all back again. Quinn started to tear up, looking to him with complete fear written over her face. “Please, go and ask someone, please” she tried to move more but could barely push her body into a sitting position. She was panicking a little too much but she was scared, more scared than she had been before.

“You don’t know how I feel about Quinn. You don’t know how hard it was for me to get over her, when she cast me aside a long time ago,” he shot back at her mother. He didn’t like Judy. He hadn’t since the day that her and Russel kicked Quinn out of the house. He wasn’t sure if he could ever like her after all the shit she put Quinn through. ”Do you even know me? Or I am just still that sixteen year old boy that knocked up your daughter?” he questioned, not letting Judy intimidate him. ”I’m that anymore and I know Quinn deserves to be happy. She deserves it more than anyone, but she should be the one that should say what is gonna make her happy, not have you continue to dictate her life.”
Puck sighed happily at the fact that Judy left him alone with Quinn. He placed himself back at her side, taking hold of her hand. ”Q,” he whispered as he squeezed her lifeless hand. ”You have to wake up,” he told her. ”You have to come back to us, all of us.” He wanted to say him, he wanted to tell her how much he missed her, how much that, even though he said she didn’t need a dude to make her special, he needed her. He felt the corner of his eyes sting with tears. ”Please, Quinn, I need you to open your eyes,” he begged, tears flowing down his face.
Quinn was still in her peaceful slumber, dreaming in some sense as she kept revisiting the crash. The feeling of the impact rushing through her almost lifeless body as she tried to make herself wake up. She didn’t know what had happened and was scared within her own mind, she could also hear people talking in the distance and couldn’t quite make out who it was. It was only as she came more focused that she heard her mothers voice as she seemed to leave the room, leaving Noah Puckerman by her side. Puck? Yeah, that was definitely his voice that she could hear and his hand that was now holding hers. Quinn tried to say something but her mouth wouldn’t move, her lips wouldn’t part and her eyes wouldn’t open. She wanted to squeeze his hand back but her body wouldn’t function properly or react to anything. There was now a part of Quinn that feared she was maybe slipping away. Maybe this was it, she was going to get her life back on track and now she was going to die. This caused the blonde to panic a little more before she silently prayed to god, thanking him for everything and asking him to bring happiness to everyone else she loved. Her mother, her father and sister….Noah, especially him and Beth.
Her prays lingered in the back of her mind as she waited for the end to come. She sighed slightly and gasped a little as the breath actually esaped her lips. Quinn focused all of her energy on her eyes and soon she managed to get them to flutter open. Quinn could barely move and everything was a haze but she could make out Puck, still stood at her side and tearing up. “Puck…..w-what happened?” she whispered, trying to focus more on things as she looked around the room but soon looked back to him, sadenned by the way he was crying. “Are you okay?” she offered him a small smile, trying to squeeze his hand again.

“And you have not right to talk to me that way. I was there for her when you guys weren’t. Remember she lived with me when she was pregnant. I’ve been there for her the last few months, when she had her melt downs,” he said, just before Judy pulled his hand away from Quinn’s. He didn’t like that her mother looked at him like a screw up that he wasn’t good enough to be around her daughter. The next words he heard come out of Judy’s mouth, surprised him. He didn’t know anything about Quinn hurting or the fact that she wanted him to want her. He looked down at Quinn then looked back at Judy. ”I didn’t know about any of that. It not that I don’t want her, I just don’t think she would want me…and by the looks of it, you already don’t think I’m good enough for you daughter,” he said looking down at Quinn. He tried to figure out what to say to her if she were to wake up. He thought it probably was good that he told her how he felt, truly felt towards her. ”I will talk to Quinn about her and I and not you. You don’t deserve to talk to me in anyway, especially since you don’t know me. You don’t know what I’ve been through with her either,” he pointed out to her. ”Watching her date Sam and Finn, while I sat back and tried to hold back every feeling I had for her. That’s why I haven’t did anything, cause I didnt this she wanted me.” He watched her mother walk towards the door. ”I’m not going anywhere until she opens her eyes.”
Judy shook her head a little more as she approached the door and stopped, looking back to him. “I know that boys like you will never be capable of making her happy. You’ll use her and then cast her aside as nothing. She deserves to be happy, after everything she has been through, it’s finally her time to move on and become something great and a boy like you will only hold her back”. Judy reached up and wiped her eyes, shedding the last few tears before she turned and walked out of the room. She muttered something about him being gone by the time she got back, the last thing she wanted to see was him still pining at Quinn’s side, that would just annoy her more than anything. Judy wandered down the hallway, looking for the doctor before she entered his office and sat down. There was a lot to talk about and she wanted to know everything that was currently going on with her daughters health. She knew that Quinn would probably wake up soon but there was a chance she would slip into a heavy coma. If she did that, there would be even less chance of her ever waking up. That would mean a goodbye which Judy was not willing to say.
Meanwhile, back in the room, Quinn was still blissfully unaware of anything that had been going on. She laid in the bed with her eyes shut, her body still and her hand still resting within Pucks. Quinn had been feeling happy that day but now all of that life and joy had been drained from her boy and she was left looking almost dead. Maybe with Puck being there, she would wake up, only time would tell.

Puck’s eyes never moved from Quinn’s lifeless body. She looked so not Quinn. There was no life in her right now, not like he had seen come back in the last couple weeks. It was good watching her slowly get her life back together. He was happy to help her, happy to give her that push that she needed and now as he looked at her, he felt like some how she might lose it all. He closed his eyes, praying a quick prayer that she would be okay, that he would do anything as long as Quinn would be okay, that she would wake up, that he could see her beautiful smile, those green eyes.
Puck finally looked away from Quinn when her mother spoke to him. ”You can just call me, Puck,” he corrected her. Noah was only reserved for people her cared about and Judy was not one of them. Judy’s words stung, hurt, caused more tears at his heart and ripping open old ones. He wanted to oblige by her wishes, wanted to just walk out and just let go everything he was feeling but he couldn’t. This woman had no right to talk to him that way, not after what she did to Quinn or her father.
“I’m the biggest mistake in her life. I think the biggest mistake in her life was moving back home with you,” he pointed out, feeling angry. ”You don’t know what Quinn wants, or what she has been going through these past couple months, so don’t tell me that me being here is going to cause her more stress. I haven’t caused her any stress. If I’ve done anything for it, it told her that she is good enough to get the hell out of here, to get the hell away from you and the ass of a father. If anyone should leave it should be you,” he said very forward. ”And Russell shouldn’t even get to see her after what he did,” he added before turning to Quinn. ”I deserve to be here and I’m not going anywhere till she wakes up,” he expressed walking over and taking hold of Quinn’s hand. He looked back down and Quinn, his heard breaking more.
Judy couldn’t believe the way this boy spoke to her, the way he just seemed to not care about respecting her. She sighed heavily as he just walked by her and held her daughters hand, still not shedding any sigh of listening to her demands for him to leave. “You have no right to talk to me that way, she is my daughter and there may have been mistakes made, when she was pregnant but I regret them all and I will not have you here”. She moved to his side and pulled his hand away from Quinn, almost hard enough to cause damage to the poor girl, if she had been awake. “I want you to leave. You claim you haven’t done anything to hurt her but you have been one of the main reasons for her heartache over the past few months. Do you realise how many tears she has shed over you? I don’t even find any sense of it all. My Quinny can find someone who is far better than you, yet she cries and wishes that you would want her”. Judy bit her lip, she realise that maybe she shouldn’t be telling him all of this but she wanted him to know just how sad he had been making her daughter, how many times he had made her cry and that he wasn’t someone who had a right to be there. “I just don’t want her waking up, seeing you are here and getting the wrong idea about things. She is going to be confused and scared enough as it is, without you adding to it”.
She stepped back and shook her head “I just want everything to be perfect for when she wakes up, I don’t want her to be unhappy or hurt, scared. I may have made some bad choices when it comes to my family but she is my daughter and I love her, no matter what anyone else says”. Judy stared to the ground as tears streamed down her face. “I’ve been so busy trying to forget my marriage that I wasn’t always there for my Quinny but she was finally getting everything she wanted. She was going to Yale and she was back on the cheerios, everything was going to be perfect for her again and now this. Now she may never wake up”. Judy shook her head again, not wanting to say that out loud and she didn’t want to explain herself to Puck. “You’re not good for her and you know it. What are you going to do when she wakes up, fill her heart with some crazy teen love and then go back to how it was, leaving her upset and hurt again?” Of course, Judy had no idea of the things that had happened with Puck and Quinn, over the past few weeks, so she was just assuming a lot. “I have to speak to the doctor, I think you should leave then” she muttered and started to walk towards the door, tears still escaping her eyes.

Puck couldn’t get to the hospital fast enough. It was like everything was keeping him from it. The traffic was horrible, the lights were not on his side. There were too many obstacles between him and the girl in the hospital. The girl that…no, he couldn’t think of that right now. Those feelings had to be pushed back down under everything right now. He just had to make sure that he was okay, that she was going to make it, that nothing was going to happen to her.
Puck finally parked his truck in the parking lot of the hospital and ran inside. He wasn’t sure where to go, where to find out where she was. He ran up to the patient desk trying to catch his breath. ”Please can you tell me where I can find, Quinn Fabray?” he asked still finding it hard to breathe. ”Her mother said that she was in a car accident. Please…tell me where to find her,” he begged. He needed to see her. He had to see her, just to know that she was okay. ”I’m sorry, sir, unless you’re family, we can’t give out any information.”
Puck tried to hold back every emotion that he had. Running his fingers through his mohawk, he leaned over the desk. ”She’s the mother of my child. I need to make sure that she is okay. That she is gonna make it,” he expressed feeling the corner of his eyes sting with tears. ”Please just let me see her, please,” he said biting his lower lip. The nurse looked conflicted for a moment before nodding her head and giving Puck the information that he needed. ”Thank you,” was all Puck said before heading down the hall.
Moments later he was entering Quinn’s room. Her mother sat next to her bed, holding her hand. He wasn’t sure if he could bring himself to walk further into the room. The girl that he had once…still loved with all his heart was laying in a hospital bed and he wasn’t sure she was going to wake up. ”Oh my god,” was all Puck said before slowly walking towards her, ignoring the fact that Judy was staring at him. ”Quinn…” he whispered before tears fell from his eyes.
Judy continued to whisper words of encouragement to her daughter, wishing that she would get the slightest sign from her that she could hear her. She kept her hand within her own and prayed that she would just move her fingers, that her eye lids would flutter open and that she would just say mom to her, anything. She was so busy holding on to Quinn’s hand and praying that she didn’t notice Puck arrive. It was only when he said her name that Judy glanced over and stared at him, watching as he moved into the room and stepped a little closer to her daughter. Judy knew that this was the same guy that had knocked her daughter up, ruining her original dreams and forcing things to become broken within her home. He was really the last person that Judy wanted around Quinn at a time like this; even though she knew Quinn needed her friends around her. “I didn’t expect to see you here, Noah is it?” Judy sighed and squeezed Quinn’s hand a little more, pulling it up to her lips once more as she watched Pucks every move.
She waited for him to stay still before she stood up and delicately placed Quinn’s hand back down on the bed. “I think you should leave, the last thing my Quinny needs is one of her biggest mistakes hanging around her. You can do no good from being here”. Judy could see that the boy was heartbroken; the tears streamed down his face enough to prove that. Yet, she couldn’t handle having him there. Quinn had been moving on with her life, making some of those original plans that would make her family proud. He really didn’t have a right to be there at least that was the way Judy felt. She walked around to him and handed him a tissue “I think you should just leave, I don’t want you to be here when my Quinny wakes up. You’ll just cause her added stress….you’ve been doing enough of that lately”. Judy glanced down to her daughter and sighed, Quinn had been going through so much and Judy had heard Pucks name mentioned more than once, she’d even heard her daughter crying over him. “Please, you can’t be here. I won’t allow you to upset her in this state and her father will be here soon, he will not want you anywhere near his daughter”. Of course, that was a lie as Russell didn’t even care about Quinn but Judy hoped he would.

Somebody that I used to know

Puck stood in the courthouse waiting for the ceremony to begin. He wasn’t sure how they all even got here. It seemed like the last two and half years seemed like a blur. And now Rachel and Finn were going to get married. After all the cheating, lies, deciet they had made it. Unlike some of them. Puck had started his senior year, thinking he had it all together, until Beth came back. He went crazy, just about as crazy as Quinn, but he did something that he regretted, something that took their little girl away from them.
Puck stood looking around, seeing how impatient Finn was, but Rachel insisted on Quinn being there. ”Dude, she’s coming,” Puck assured him as he took out his phone, smiling at the last texts he got from her. Things had really changed for them. They went from cheater, to lover, to parents, to not existing to each other, to really good friends. Something he thought would never happen, he never thought she would even acknowledge him ever again. Thinking she would only look at him as someone that knocked her up, even if he did tell her he loved her. Things were better for them and Puck was happy to have her back in his life.
Sighing, Puck took a seat next to Sam on floor as they waited. Sam kinda looked broken hearted still. He knew that Mercedes and him were still keeping their distant from each other, which only hurt both of them worse. ”Where is she?” Rachel said waiting for a text from Quinn letting her know something. It seemed like hours, but it was only ten minutes later, that one by one, phones started going off. Puck frowned as he looked down at his, and it was from Quinn, Judy. Puck chuckled before opening it. He only read the first part of the message, before he was running down the hall of the courthouse, his friends calling after him. He didn’t even say anything. He had to get to the hospital, he had to make sure that she was okay.
Nothing could have prepared Judy Fabray for the call she was about to recieve, for the news she would be told of her younger daughter being involved in a collision. It would never be a good time for anyone to have an accident but Quinn had actually been finding happiness. Judy had been so proud of her when she heard about Yale and then today, when she heard that she had been accepted back with the cheerios. It had all been coming together nicely but now she had just finished talking to the police, her eyes tearing up as she rushed around the house. She had grabbed a few of Quinns things before she sped over to the hospital, trying to prepare herself for the worse outcome. Naturally, being as religious as she was, Judy started to pray a little and even called Russell to inform him as he was her father, whether he acted like it or not.
Once she was at the hospital, she was shown through to her daughters bed where she found Quinn unconscious. The doctors explained that Quinn wasn’t in any initial trouble but they weren’t sure when she would wake up. It was different with almost every patient in this position. Some woke up instantly, some waited days before they did but all in all, they hoped she would be okay. Of course, there was a concern that she would slip into a coma, something that could be permanent but no one wanted to worry about that, not yet.
Judy was handed some of daughters belongings, a small bag and her mobile phone. She quickly flashed through the contacts and sent a mass message to them all, knowing her friends needed to be here, even the one that had knocked her up. Once that was sent, Judy held her daughters hand and prayed, every so often simply speaking to Quinn and begging her to wake up. “Quinny, sweetheart, you have to wake up now, Your friends are all on their way to see you and you can’t sleep all the way through their visit. Please, darling….wake up”. Judy muttered more and pulled Quinn’s hand up to her mouth, placing a delicate kiss on her hand before she sobbed a little more.

They were only about half way through the school year and already so much had happened to Quinn. She had started with this insane punk phase, her hair being pink and her attitude being more carefree than it had ever been. This had been brought on by somewhat of a breakdown, her mistakes and heartaches all catching up with her and forcing her to try and find a way to deal with it. Naturally, this phase didn’t last too long. She was back to being blonde within days, when Shelby returned with her daughter, Beth. Quinn hadn’t really gotten over giving her baby up for adoption and from the moment she heard it, she started a crazy plan to win custody again. Yeah, the pink hair was gone but the insane attitude and phase, wasn’t completely over with. Even Quinn knew that she was being crazy, trying to plant things in Shelby’s home just to make her seem like an unfit mother. To her, she assumed that if she got Beth back, it would fix all of her problems and she would be finally happy.
Quinn was wrong, she tried to sabotage Shelby several times before some people, Sam and Puck, spoke to her and basically told her that she was in need of some help. Puck was the biggest help; he convinced her that she was better than that. He told her that she was one of the only ones who would do something with her life, explaining that she didn’t need a boy to be happy. This sank in pretty deep and Quinn eventually gave up the plot to steal Beth back, finally accepting the facts of life and that she would one day find happiness.
Several weeks had passed since then, Christmas had come and gone and Quinn was now figuring out that life was still ahead of her. She had just been accepted into Yale and she was actually thankful for everything that the Glee club had done for her, over the years. They had never dropped her, not during her pregnancy and not even when she was trying to sabotage them. Quinn couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming group of people, a real family that she didn’t have at home. She had even given up on her obsession with being loved. She knew that she would always love the few guys she had been with but knew that it was about time that she said goodbye and moved on, which she was.
The only thing that didn’t seem as much of a movement forward was the fact that she had just been accepted back on the cheerios. This was how she had started out her high school years; it was how she wanted to end them. “I’m going to win you nationals with this” she had insisted to Sue, a smile toying on her lips as she quickly rushed to throw the familiar uniform on. Quinn instantly felt incredible and even ran into Rachel, telling her that she would be at her wedding after all. Quinn didn’t see why they were rushing but she was finally seeing what happiness felt like and she wanted to witness Rachel and Finns wedding.
Quinn rushed home where she threw on her bridesmaid dress and hurried back out. She was texting Puck a little with her good news and was actually looking forward to having a few dances with him, something that she never thought would happen with all the drama they had shared. Quinn told him that she was on her way and drove quickly to the hall, trying to keep Rachel updated as she hassled her about getting there soon. Quinn quickly wrote again ‘on my way’ and pressed send, hearing the sound of a car horn. She glanced in front and saw nothing, not even turning her head to see the car or even notice the stop sign she had jumped.
The sound of tyres screeching along the road seemed to almost deafen her before she felt the thud. Her body was thrown forward and she tried to focus on what was going on before her head hit the steering wheel and she watched the road spin in front of her. Glass was thrown around and she closed her eyes, unable to move or scream, the shock taking over her until the car seemed to stop rolling. Quinn opened her eyes and took in a deep breath, glancing around her as everything seemed a blur. She could hear someone shouting out, asking if she was okay and saying to call an ambulance. She wanted to scream to them but she soon felt sick, her head spinning and a dizzy feeling overtaking her until everything went black and she passed out.
